The rules
What you may have learned
No. 01 · GriefThe MournerYou may have learned that you move through grief and return to functioning, that mourning too long is something to fix, and that only certain losses count as grief in the first place, a death, obviously, but not a miscarriage, a friendship, a pet, or the life you thought you'd have.→No. 07 · Death and endingsThe Threshold KeeperYou may have learned that death, and endings generally, are failures to be managed and minimised so ordinary life can resume.→No. 21 · Change and reinventionThe ShapeshifterYou may have learned that changing makes you unreliable, indecisive, someone who can't commit to who they are.→No. 04 · Shame and anger turned inwardThe ScapegoatYou may have learned that when something goes wrong the fault is probably yours, that anger at the people who hurt you is dangerous or disloyal, and that the safest place to put it is back on yourself. So the anger turned inward and became shame: not "I did something bad" but "I am bad". It might start with noticing the next time you blame yourself first, and asking, before you agree, whose anger this actually is. Shame is often anger that never had a safe place to land. Handed back to where it belongs, it stops being a verdict on who you are.→
