The Returning One
You may have learned that the child you were, before any of this, got left behind for a reason, and that whatever came after was the necessary trade, with no option to go back now.
Traditionally echoed in Persephone, who returns from the underworld every spring, the same figure who opens the Mourner card, and in Sankofa, the Akan bird that looks back while moving forward: it is not wrong to go back for what you left behind. Echoed too in the Hymn of the Pearl, from the Syriac Acts of Thomas, in which a prince sent into Egypt forgets he is a king's son until a letter from home reminds him who he is.
